The Madagascar 3: “Furry vs. The Fuzz” video adventure was an immersive narrative interactive experience presented as a series of simple and fun mini Flash games that played out as a choose-your-own-adventure short film on YouTube. Users were tasked with helping Alex and the gang navigate their way across Europe with Capitaine Dubois hot on their tails. From penguin extraction, controlling the L.A.R.V. (Luxury Assault Recreational Vehicle), to firing the M.P.S.P. (Monkey Powered Super-Plane) banana cannon, the entire experience was edited from the then incomplete and unreleased full length film to create several unique storylines. We developed a script/VO for Tom McGrath (The film’s Director and voice of Skipper) and custom animation loops in collaboration with the Dreamworks Animation team to create the "Madagascar 3: Skipper needs your help" video to kick off the experience with Skipper breaking the third wall… and pretty much everything else too... which quickly evolved into a massive viral hit with over 10 million views and used as YouTube’s prime example of a flash takeover.
